The Meshk Society is pleased to announce the initiation of a three-class series on Turkish Classical Music. All musicians are invited to these classes, which will also include examples of other valuable forms in the context of Mevlevî Âyîn-i Şerîf and İlâhîs. The İlâhî class, organized as a cultural class, is open to all levels of interest. Those with musical experience are expected to attend the Âyîn class. The aim of The Theory of Turkish Music and Reading Music Class-I is to enable participants to read and perform Turkish Music pieces written in European music notation. It is open to those who have no knowledge of Turkish Music Theory and reading notation or feel their knowledge is insufficient. The classes will be conducted by Dr. Timuçin Çevikoğlu.
